THE STATUE OF DECEBALUS AND DANUBE’S CAULDRONS
Romania is a country gifted with beautiful landscapes and sceneries. Visiting those places can be a challenge, since the roads are the worst and some other details that I won’t share with you now. I will keep them for another post.
So THE STATUE OF DECEBALUS is a very interesting sculpture located at the DANUBE’S CAULDRONS (CAZANELE DUNARII), a place where the Carpathian Mountains meet the Danube river and is also at the border with Serbia. It is the tallest rock relief in Europe. It was booked and paid for by a Romanian businessman, Iosif Constantin Drăgan and under the sculpture you can notice a Latin inscription – DECEBALUS REX—DRAGAN FECIT – which means “King Decebalus—Made by Dragan”.
It is a very imposing statue and you can have a great view from the bridge or an even better view from a boat. I think the following video shows its beauty in the best way.
